A little gem of a guest house. You will find luxury, great service and delicious, locally sourced food. Your only regret will be that you didn't stay longer.

Our Story

We are delighted to be the owners of our dream home and guest house since  June 2017.  Having experienced the corporate world for many years, a change of lifestyle was very welcome and we are proud to provide a luxury ‘home away from home’ for visitors from all over the world. You will find The Old Minister’s House to be more than you ever expected from a guest house. Little extras, luxuries and attention to detail will make you smile and our home baking and made-to-order breakfast will ensure you are ready for a day full of adventures. The most frequent comment we hear from our guests is ‘we wish we had stayed longer’.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Old Minister’s House.

Lorraine and Stephen

19th century romance with 21st century comforts

Built in 1895, The Old Minister’s House is steeped with character and history. Originally built to house the local parish minister, this grand house has been tastefully updated in recent years to be your luxury home away from home. It’s somewhere you can curl up by the fire on a cold night with a Scottish whisky or spend a sunny spring morning in the garden with a cup of locally roasted coffee.

A great night’s sleep with black-out curtains, pocket sprung mattresses and Egyptian cotton sheets is as important as all the thoughtful touches you’ll find like home baking, luxurious teas and locally roasted coffee. You can enjoy the wilderness of the highlands with the comforts of high speed wifi, bedside USB chargers and a printer available for guest use.

Scottish hospitality

Nothing makes us happier than the sound of chatter floating from the guest lounge as you enjoy planning your day’s activities, sampling fine Scottish produce from the honesty bar or meeting new friends. We are proud to stock some of Scotland’s finest gins and whiskies, alcoholic and soft drinks in our licensed honesty bar. You can nose whisky and swirl gins like a master distiller using the tips and tasting notes provided.

We are more than happy to cater to dietary and accessibility requirements wherever possible. We have a ground floor guest room, a gluten-free menu and a willingness to make everybody comfortable.

If you have a special request, need information about your stay or the local area, feel free to get in touch.

We look forward to welcoming you.
