19th century charm with 21st century comforts
We offer a truly Scottish, luxury experience that will allow you to explore the Highlands from the comfort of a ‘home away from home’. The house was built as a home for a minister of the Church of Scotland in 1895 and retains much of its original 19th century charm. Luxuriously updated, the guesthouse offers peace and quiet with extra special, thoughtful touches to make your stay extra amazing. Each of our five rooms come with modern features to make you comfortable – you’ll love our fresh flowers and Egyptian cotton bedding. Each bedroom’s name and interiors are inspired by local rivers, lochs and hills. Spacious and comfortable, they’re perfectly suited for a couples break or a trip with friends. You can cosy up with a film from our DVD library while tucking in to the mini bar and snack basket of Scottish treats or indulge yourself in a bubble bath with a Scottish gin. All before heading out to enjoy some live music in the town centre or a serene moonlit walk to spot animals by the river. The guesthouse is fully serviced by our small but mighty team and we pride ourselves on delivering the highest standards of house-keeping and customer service.
Guests are welcome to use the guest lounge, equipped with an honesty bar of Scottish tipples and softs, guide books, DVDs to borrow, an iPad and of course, big comfy sofas for relaxing at the end of a big adventurous day.
All of our guest rooms are ensuite. We have king or twin beds available, all have luxurious pocket sprung mattresses and the highest quality bedding and linen. Please let us know upon booking if you would like your room made up with twin beds (two separate beds).
The Minister may be old, but he has free wifi for all his guests! Each room also has a mini bar, black out curtains, dressing gowns and slippers, a hair dryer, a hot water bottle, Freeview TV with DVD player (DVD library available in guest lounge), multi-way plug with USB charging ports and bedside USB charging ports. There is private, off-street parking for guests immediately outside the house. We do not offer dinner at the guesthouse but are happy to recommend a local restaurant.
All room rates include a hearty Highland breakfast.
We offer made-to-order cooked breakfasts and a selection of fresh items such as fruit and yoghurt. You’ll also find a seasonal selection of home baking, breakfast trifles and other foodie surprises! We use locally sourced ingredients and support local business wherever possible. We are happy to cater to dietary requirements, please let us know when you book.
Each room has complimentary Scottish Fine Soaps toiletries and a selection of tea and coffee making facilities featuring The Scottish Tea Co and Bean Shop coffee. You’ll also find a surprise tipple and a sweet treat on arrival!
For minimal steps, be sure to request our ground floor guest bedroom which has a walk-in shower. Our guest lounge and breakfast room are also situated on the ground floor. Please be aware that we have a gravel driveway and two steps at our entrance. If you have concerns or questions about access, don’t hesitate to email or phone us.
We are fully licensed, meaning that over 18s are allowed to buy and consume alcohol on the premises! In your room you’ll find a minibar and in the guest lounge, a full honesty bar with lots of exciting Scottish gin, whisky and beer.
Unfortunately the guesthouse is not suitable for babies or children under the age of 12.
